Designer note: Unless stated beginning ch 3 counts as a dc. A beginning ch1 doesn¿t count as a sc and a beginning ch2 doesn¿t count as a hdc

Halter

With variegated ch 16-(this is the bottom of halter)

Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook (mark these two skipped chains), and in each ch across (14 hdc) (RS)

Row 2-4: ch 2, turn 1st hdc, hdc in remaining hdc to last hdc, leave last hdc unworked. At the end of Row 4 there should be (8hdc) and fasten off.(this is the top of halter)

Edging and Ties-Viola The Edging and ties are all done with out having to fasten off and rejoin over and over again for simplicity.

With RS facing, join to the side of the marked 2 chs, ch1, sc in same spot, you will be working in sides of rows, 5 sc evenly up side of halter, sc in last hdc of row 4, ch 31,sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 29 chs, turn so you can work across Row 4, slp st in last hdc of row 4, (ch 2, slp st in next hdc) repeat across row 4, ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 29 chs, turn so you now can work down the side of halter, slp st in the side of 1st hdc of row 4, ch 1, sc in same st, work 5 more sc evenly down the side to the side of row 1, ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 29 chs, turning so you can now work in remaing loops of beginning ch from row 1, (ch 2, slp st in next free loop) repeat across row 1, ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 29 chs, join to 1st sc of edging. Fasten off.

Shorts

With variegated ch 46, careful not to twist ch, join to 1st ch to form a circle

Rnd 1: ch 2, hdc in same st, and in each ch around, join to 1st hdc.

Rnd 2-5: ch 2, hdc in same st, and in each st around, join to 1st hdc.

At the end of rnd 5, ch 3, skip next 22 hdc, slp st in next hdc

First Leg

Rnd 1: ch 2, hdc in same st and in next 22 hdc, hdc in next 3 chs, join to 1st hdc (26hdc)

Rnd 2: ch 2, hdc in same st and in remaining hdc around, join to 1st hdc. Fasten off.

Second Leg

Rnd 1: Join variegated in hdc next to joining st from 1st leg, ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in remaing hdc and chs around, join to 1st hdc.

Rnd 2: Repeat rnd 2 from 1st leg.

Waist Edging

Join viola to any free loop from beginning ch 46, ch 2, (slp st in next loop, ch 2) repeat around, join to 1st slp st. Fasten off.

Leg Edging

* Join viola to rnd 2 of either leg, ch 2 (slp st in next hdc, ch 2) repeat around, join to 1st slp st. Fasten off.*

Repeat * * for other leg.

Sun Visor

With variegated ch 45, join 1st ch to form circle, careful not to twist ch.

Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same st and in each ch around, join to 1st sc

Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in sc around, join to back loop of 1st sc.

Row 3: (working in back loops for this row) sc in next sc, hdc in next sc, dc in next 2sc, Tr in next 8 sc, dc in next 2 sc, hdc in next sc, sc in next sc, slp st in next st. Fasten off.

Edging

Join viola to any free loop of beginning ch 45, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in remaining free loops around, join to 1st sc. Fasten off.

Join Viola to any sc from Rnd 2, sc in each sc, slp st, hdc, dc, and tr around, join to 1st sc. Fasten off.

Sandals

With Viola ch8

Rnd 1: 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in next 4chs, hdc in next ch, 4 hdc in last chain, working down opposite side of beginning chain, hdc in next chain, sc in next 4 ch, 2 sc in last ch, join to 1st sc (12 sc, 6 hdc)

Rnd2: ch1, 2sc in same sc, sc in the next 5 sc, hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next 4 hdc, hdc in next hdc, sc in n next 5 sc, 2 sc in last sc, join with a slp to back loop of 1st sc (14sc, 10hdc) Fasten off.

Heel

Row 1:with edge of heel facing you, join viola to back loop 4 sts to the right of where you fastened off, ch 1, sc in same st and in next 7 back loops(8sc)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across

Rnd 3: ch 1, turn, sc in 1st and in next 2 sts, sc dec, sc in next 3 sts, ch 8, join to 1st sc

Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in joining and in each st around, join. Fasten off.

Strap

With heel towards you and inside of sole facing you, skip three sts to the right of heel on the side, attach viola to inside loop of next st, ch 6, join w/slp st to opposite side of sole to 4th inside loop from left side of heel, slp st in next back loop towards the toe, turn, sc in each ch of the ch6, join to next st towards the toe on the opposite side of sole. Fasten off

Repeat for 2nd sandal

Weave in all ends.
