Like most families, we often have to find creative ways to keep our children interested in learning.  Our family is no different.  Around the time I came up with this game, my oldest daughter had just turned four.  We were working on learning to count along with some basic math.  When she asked me if we could play a game, I gathered up some items around the house and came up with a "dice game."  She quickly took to it and often asked if we could play "that dice game."  I don't think we played more than five times before I noticed she no longer had to count the dots on the dice but rather recognized what a "5" or "6" was. She was having fun and I could see her skills advancing.  Add and subtract were now words that she understood and started to apply simple math to everyday life.  That's when I realized that this "dice game" could help other parents in their quest to teach their kids basic counting and math.

If you decide to get a game, have fun with it.  We have.
