This beautiful mantle was a staple in late Victorian homes. It is constructed of slate and was finished to resemble the more rare marble mantles of the era. It measures 62" x 46" overall and the firebox opening measures 18" x 27". (These fireplaces were originally coal burning so they are smaller than the average fireplace however gas coals have been put on the market to convert these fireplaces to gas burning systems.)
