Within BP, she has served in a variety of senior roles and her career has included postings in the United Kingdom, Singapore and the US. Katrina speaks conversational German and French and serves as a non-executive director of Alstom.
As the Chair of BP’s Women’s International Network (WIN), she shared several stories about the ways in which they are unleashing energy and passion in their global women’s network, including the new theme of “getting deeply personal”. This is a focus on having senior level women share a more personal perspective on themselves with a limited number of women in small panel discussions.
Katrina also talked about “Each one Reach one” which is a model that came from the Women’s Business Resource Group in Houston. WIN is also tracking issues raised at the luncheons hosted by senior level women to determine what has been solved and what value that solution has provided to the women at large.
And the Women’s Business Resource Group is moving from mentorship, where they recommend external mentors to women, to sponsorship which is critically important for women. This is someone who advocates for you when you are not in the room, has your back and will help you negotiate the path to career success.
