This Film tells the story of the "Long march" of China's Revolutionary Peasant and Workers Party and their guerilla Army. Starting in October 1933, the film reviews all the essential points and turning events of the dangerous journey to Victory and the Final Foundation of the Peoples' Republic of China. Highlighted are the struggle of the Fifth Red Army against "encirclement and suppression" caused by the wrongful leadership, strategy and decisions of the Central Party Leadership under Soviet shepperding, next is the retreat from and evacuation of the Jiangxi revolutionary base lead by "Chairman" Mao Zedong. Other parts focus on the breaking with Soviet Advise and influence during the Zunyi Meeting leading to the gradual "liquidation of the adventurism of the "Left" mistakes". The general story line following exemplifies the deeds and adventures of the great political team formed by Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, the two man team that eventually received broad support from senior leadership within the party leading them to coomunist party and peoples army leadership. After eliminating internal opposition, the Red Army under the command of Mao Zedong's "correct" and near "destined" Leadership, finally arrives victoriously but decimated at the one remaining revolutionary base in Shaanxi Province.
