History of Gerome's Sausage

Gerome's Homemade Italian Sausage originated in the late 1800's in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. The recipe was handed down to Pierino and Rosina Girolamo (later changed to Gerome) from the Girolamo Family in the late 1900's. The sausage was originally prepared using the pork of farm-raised pigs at their home in West Virginia.

Eventually, the family moved to Bristol, PA and opened Gerome's Market where Gerome's Sausage was enjoyed by young and old alike for over 25 years. The Market was operated by Rosie Gerome and her son Silvio, and later by his son Michael. The business was sold in 1985, and to the regret of many, the delicious Sausage has been missed ever since. From that time on, the Sausage was made at home and available only to close friends and relatives of Michael.

Due to popular demand, Michael and his family have re-opened Gerome's Sausage Company, located in Levittown PA, in the Woodbourne Plaza Shopping Center at 934 Woodbourne Road. The same Original Family Recipe is used at Gerome's to make this delicious Sausage. Our Sausage is always made fresh, with no additives or fillers, using the finest spices available
