Hydrated Lime can be applied at any time during the growing season. A soil pH of 6.5 is recommended for most gardens. Mixing 3.5 lbs of Hydrated Lime into 70 square feet of soil will raise the pH by one point. Wear glove to gently mix it in, then water. Do not apply fertilizers at the same time or before using. On potted plants or containers mix 1 tablespoon of Hydrated Lime per gallon of water and apply as a normal watering.
