This light weight fabric "floats" over the crops you want to protect from frosts, insects, birds and animals. As a physical barrier it prevents these harmful pests from feasting on your plants. The light weights allows it to float on tops of your plants without harming them. Just bury one edge with soil or hold down with staples or rocks and the other side use an item that you can remove easily so that you can adjust the amount of the fabric that is over the plants to allow for growth. You should leave it a little loose over the tops of the plants to allow for growth. It must be removed to allow for pollination. If temperatures go over 85°F remove the fabric to prevent heat stress. You can build small hoops so that you can use it as a hoop house and keep it off the tops of your plants.
To use as frost protection, a single layer will give protection to 29°F and a double layer will protect down to 26°F.
