About HEALTHYMEDICINEACADEMYHealthy Medicine Academy

¿Do not go where the path leads. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.¿         Ralph Waldo Emerson

The term ¿Healthy Medicine¿ is an educational organization that is dedicated to the pursuit of truth and the restoration of trust in medicine.

The term includes the gradual transition towards integrative medicine that is happening throughout the nation. It also embraces the broad economic shifts that are necessary in both medicine and all aspects of local and national life. Finally, it embodies a level of integrity, authenticity, transparency and participation that is lacking today in health care.

Healthy Medicine began in 2005 with the formation by Robert Zieve, MD of the Center for Healthy Medicine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the ongoing emergence of an effective and affordable alternative to the current American ¿sickness care¿ system through the principles, practice and funding of Healthy Medicine. His two books, Healthy Medicine: A Guide to the Emergence of Sensible, Comprehensive Care (2005), and Beyond the Medical Meltdown (2006) were published by Bell Pond Books. Between 2005 and 2007, Dr. Zieve appeared on radio shows from coast to coast to discuss the concept of healthy medicine.

In 2008, Dr. Zieve¿s own weekly radio show began, Healthy Medicine Radio. Today, two years later, close to 90 interviews with noted figures in the field of integrative medicine are available for download on http://www.healthymedicine.org/html/radio.html. A book of the best of Healthy Medicine Radio interviews will be published in 2011.

The inspiration for Healthy Medicine Academy, Healthy Medicine Academy Online and Healthy Medicine Network came to Eve Greenberg in 2010. Eve has been the Secretary/Treasurer for the Center for Healthy Medicine since its inception and actually coined the term ¿healthy medicine¿. Attorney Dane Rutledge joined them to blend their unique talents.
