Wind Chimes - Abstract Louisiana fused-glass artist Jerilyn Guidry LaVergne creates Abstract Wind Chimes that are colorful and flow with richness and energy. She feels fortunate to be doing what she loves and that is creating one-of-a-kind works of art. She explains: "When I approach my work station, I usually do not know what I am about to create. With glasscutter in hand, I search for just the right piece of glass of the right color and shape. I start working. The way I feel at the time immensely affects the work about to be created. Regardless of what I create, the basic idea is the same: Layer the glass and then fuse it. All of my work is fired at 1,440 degrees Fahrenheit. My kiln is equipped with a computer which allows me to program the firing to my specifications. Each Abstract Wind Chime spends about 10 hours in my kiln. This process makes my work extremely durable. Once completely cooled, the Wind Chime is removed from the kiln, washed and signed. It is then taken to my beading station where assembly of the piece is accomplished. Black tar-coated fishing net string with 45 lb. test, is used at the top of my Wind Chimes. Nylon-coated stainless steel fishing line is used to string the various glass beads of different colors to complete the decoration of each piece." Add Serenity Glass to your order.
