This is our hot, new Cantilever QD CompM2 mount (also known as M68-CCO). The cantilever design pushes your Aimpoint out over the D-ring...leaving more room behind to mount your NV stuff or even the new 3X Magnifier. The base has a built-in watertight storage compartment for an extra battery...comes in handy. Height is the same as "some-folks-in-the-know" set some time back and they called it perfect.

Review: I purchased the Cantilever QD CompM2 mount with an aimpoint CompML3 for my new Smith & Wesson M&P15T. I love this mount, it is very durable and keeps my ML3 locked right in place. I like it so much I just bought the Poor Boy Special to add 2.5X magnification for those longer range shots.

Title of review: Room to move
Review: I had used G*&* and A.*.*.* mounts for the Aimpoint CompM2 (M68) but then was introduced to LaRue Tactical via another military websight.
I decided to purchase another Aimpoint CompM3 for another rifle build and discovered that the LaRue Tactical actually offered the "Combo Packages" with the Red dot and the mount that I wanted. I also purchased the Aimpoint Magnifier in LaRues "Combo Package"
Both of these mounts are by far the "HEAT" in the optics mounts industry for AR15 rifles and military M4 series rifles. The installation is simple and the ability to tighten and loosen the throw lever tension is an added plus when you want to discard your secondary optic like the magnifier or the PVS/14 NV optic.
I'll be ordering a "Pivot" mount shortly and have no reservations about the qaulity of the LaRues mounts and other products.
Marks right, the Cantilever mount is just the perfect height and extended for total eye relief and faster target acquisistion.

Title of review: Outstanding
Review: Own (2) LT129/ Aimpoint combos. Have owned/ used several other makes/types. While others are adequate and sometimes acceptable, this combo is truly outstanding. I've seen these "other" sights have batteries run down, and electronics fail. But I have never witnessed an Aimpoint quit. Additionally, the Lt 150/129 mounts are scary reliable. And they really do return to zero every time. THEY REALLY DO!! |
