SNAKE CHARMER CAPE features Mary's signature engineered shibori textile design and tucked (stitched) rib collar and washboard back details. The shibori wool cape gracefully falls from the shoulders to the midcalf with minimal construction. The edges are bound with black silk and strategically placed snaps invite the wearer to change the silhouette by the manner in which the snaps are configured and joined. The cape can be worn long (hemline unsnaped), asymmetric (hemline partially snapped), or in a cocoon shape (all snaps done). In each case, the illusion of the shibori bands changes the design of the garment.
The cape folds easliy and packs flat for traveling. The cube, hemitite beads reflect light and add a hard-edge metallic contrast to the soft, wool nap surface.
The SNAKE CHARMER CAPE is perfect for cool spring and fall days worn with a tailored pant, sweater and boots...topped off with the soft alpaca CASTLE TUCKED HAT and ARM WARMERS! THE ENSEMBLE WAS EXHIBITED at ANIMAL FIBERS: ART INFORMS SHIBORI during the International Shibori Symposium 8 at Hong Kong Polytechinical, HK, December 4, 2011-January 1, 2012.
