This new workshop covers therapeutic evaluation & treatment of pediatric equinus gait ("toe walking") from both physical therapy and occupational therapy perspectives by combining traditional physical therapy methodologies with the additional support of occupational therapy sensory strategies when indicated to address toe walking in pediatric populations. Two identical breakout sessions on the second day offer a multiple-station lab environment in which clinicians spend four hours experiencing and practicing with a number of equinus management techniques and interventions.

Pediatric Intoeing & Out-Toeing Management Strategies
Using TheraTogs ULTRA Orthotic Systems for Neuromotor Training

This program builds upon the foundation laid in the CTF Level I workshop. (Successful completion of Level I is a pre-requisite.) It features a brief review of pediatric orthopedic lower-extremity (LE) skeletal and joint development as it occurs in the transverse plane, including such factors as medial and lateral joint rotation and medial and lateral long bone torsion. It explores these factors in relation to deviations in foot progression angle (FPA) – commonly called intoeing and out-toeing.

Attendees receive a copy of Beverly Cusick's Legs & Feet DVD and a set of three assessment tools for use in the afternoon lab.
