Cool wet weather before harvest allowed our 2005 Pinot to pick up subtle flavors without becoming over ripe. It has the deep garnet-ruby color typical of the McMinnville AVA.
The nose reveals a heady combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and floral aromas. Good acidity, juicy ripe raspberry and cherry flavors, and a hint of vanilla lead to a silky mid palate mouth feel. Minerals, spices, and well balanced tannins create an intriguing finish. This wine is drinking nicely now, and it will reward medium-term cellar aging.
