Complete with layette items and basic sets, they cover all the basic bases. Best of all they use low impact dyes and screen prints created by Kelsey Pettit, an aspiring children¿s illustrator.

The environmental movement is embracing bamboo ¿ it's actually a type of gigantic grass with hollow, jointed, woody stems ¿ as a raw material source for organic clothing.A number of manufacturers and retailers ¿ Sprout Kids Clothing, New Balance, Sameunderneath and Lela Designs, among others ¿ are offering underwear, T-shirts and other clothing made primarily of bamboo, targeting green-conscious consumers and advertising the products as all natural.Established clothing purveyors such as JC Penney and H&M are also joining the movement, touting their eco-friendly offerings. The market for organic clothing is expected to be worth at least $3 billion by the end of this year, according to research by Berkeley, Calif.-based Organic Exchange, an organic-cotton promotion group.

When I received Sprout¿s Bamboo clothing to test and review, I was excited about the product. I admit, I had some doubts on bamboo being durable as cotton, so I had washed the newborn baby set around 100 times to see how the material would handle in terms of color, wear, fabric texture, and the overall integrity of the product. I was absolutely impressed by the outfit. Because bamboo is a loose fitting, soft fabric, I thought the shape of the overall outfit would lose it¿s elasticity, but not with Sprout¿s Bamboo¿s clothes. The colors, texture, and overall fabric looked natural and as new as when I received it from Grace.

Sprout¿s clothing is made from 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton. (Bamboo by nature cannot be organic). It is perfect for a newborns sensitive skin.
It is super absorbent, protects against UV rays, and my favorite- naturally antibacterial! Sprout¿s clothing is all about carrying bamboo and other alternative eco-friendly fabrics that are not only beneficial to the environment, but also our children.

Children's Fashion News
Sprout Quality Organic Bamboo Children's Clothing

Bamboo is no longer just a delicacy for pandas. The environmental movement is embracing bamboo as a raw material source for organic clothing. Take for example Santa Monica, Calif.-based Sprout Kids Clothing that combines comfy fabric, with creative graphics to make environmentally and socially responsible clothing for the sprouts we love

Bamboo is kind of like the Renaissance kid in high school who seemed to be able to do everything perfectly, without much effort. It grows faster than any other plant, with no help from pesticides or irrigation. It's exceedingly strong. And it has a softer side: When woven into fabric, the grass has the feel of cashmere and the sheen of silk.

It's no wonder the people at Sprout, an up-and-coming kids fashion retailer, make all of their clothes from this wonder-plant. Before you start conjuring crunchy, oatmeal-colored designs, let us assure you: This stuff is hip. Picture vibrant onesies, hoodies, tees and kimono-style tops with contrasting trim, elbow patches and beachy graphics like surfboards and hula girls.

Beautiful, organic, sustainable ¿ what's not to love? When it comes to making the world a better place, we name bamboo, and the companies that promote it, "most likely to succeed."

In 10th grade, there was a boy named Brian Tolley. His parents were hippies and drove an old Volkswagon van. It was from him that I first heard about things like The Grateful Dead and marijuana. He was cool. The only thing I didn't like was his seemingly endless array of hemp ponchos. If being a hipster meant wearing itchy, frankly quite ugly, garments ... well, I would just stick with my Benetton outfits and take my chances on being allied with "the man."

Fast forward twenty years and tree-hugging has transformed from an alternative lifestyle to mainstream and Main Street. My super favorite hoodie is 90% soybean, 10% cashmere and cost
about $30 at Putamayo in Charleston, South Carolina.

Have you joined the green revolution yet? My new favorite way to get in on the act is to give Sprout Kids Clothing for baby gifts. Sprout baby and children's clothes are made with 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton. They're machine washable and made to last. In the long run, bamboo clothing is biodegradable, too. Isnt that cool? Allergy-conscious moms take note that Sprout uses low impact dyes and all of their bamboo t-shirts and bamboo baby and children's clothes are made of unbleached bamboo and unbleached organic cotton, which is gentle on sensitive skin. Another ingenius feature is that they use silk screening on all the insides of baby clothes, so little ones don't get scratched by tags!  It's a smart company and a smart line of products, so both yuppies and hippies can shop together in peace!

You do your part and recycle. You switch off the lights when you leave a room. You've started turning off the water when you brush your teeth. You're stepping up to do your little part in saving the environment. Now you can dress your little sprouts in eco-friendly duds. Sprout Kids Clothing has introduced a new line of bamboo organic cotteon blend clothing for today's eco-consious kids. The collection is designed to add a touch of cuteness to the growing children's organic fashion world. Their designs combine comfy fabric with creative, eco-inspired graphics to make envirnomentally and socially responsible clothing for today's tots. The line uses nature inspired graphics in low impact dyes and screen prints to inspire a love of nature and the envirnoment.

Our favorite are the new sprout kits which include a soft kimono top and warm footie pant bottoms and a cute little matching hat with a little bamboo sprout graphic. The whole kit comes packed in re-usable drawstring bag.

Bamboo baby gear? Yep, you read it right, bamboo. Sprout clothing is made from 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton. When I first read that I thought to myself, how comfortable can bamboo be? Super comfortable. I could not believe how soft it was, perfect for a newborns sensitive skin. I had no idea of the awesome benefits of bamboo,it is super absorbent, protects against UV rays, and my favorite- naturally antibacterial! Bamboo is a main theme of the Sprout children¿s line, not only is it in the fabric, it is also on the fabric. Awesome designs of surf and sun, hula hoops and swings and yes bamboo becomes the theme of the season at Sprout. Beautiful colors of teal, pink, orange, purple, and brown make these baby clothes stand out from the rest.

I received this adorable Sprout kit in brown and pink. It includes a pair of footie pants, kimono top, and adorable hat, all in a reusable drawstring bag. This would be perfect for a baby shower gift. I know you will love Sprout as much as I do. Go see their Spring line HERE.
