A beautiful symbol of American hospitality. Our pineapple pin is crafted with Jonquil Swarovski crystals and the leaves are gold tone with a sprinkling of clear crystals. Measures 1-7/8" x 1". A Story Card is included. See the 'Additional Information' tab for the Story Card verbiage.
The Story Card reads: "The "Pine Fruit", or Pineapple was first mentioned in the 16th century when seafaring colonists brought it back from the Caribbean as a possible cash crop to be farmed in Virginia. Later it evolved as the colonial symbol of hospitality when sea captains upon their return would spear a precious pineapple on the gate announcing to friends that the captain was home and all were welcome."
