to
Barefoot Coffee Roasters
Our entire existence is one thing: Striving for coffee perfection. We haven't reached it yet, but we are enjoying some amazing coffee on the way. We take coffee pretty seriously and we love it. Great Coffee is its own reward. Our mega marketing message designed to take over the world is just: Great Coffee. Not very fancy or rico-suave but we like it. Barefoot keeps it simple; take great coffee, craft it with pride and passion, treat the whole coffee experience as a culinary art and operate sustainably from top to bottom. That's Barefoot. Great coffee, coffee as a culinary art and sustainability.
In our roasting, we strive for coffee perfection every day. We never rest or accept less than the best. We lie awake at night trying to figure out how to extract all the amazing flavor that is already inside the great coffee we are so lucky to be able to roast. It torments us and makes us paranoid and obsessive. We hover over the roaster, logging dozens of data points, monitoring time, temperature, heat/air flow, profile curves and predictively adjusting heat and air flow on the fly. You can see us staring intently at the beans as they tumble by our sight glass in the roaster examining color variances. We endlessly grab samples of the roasting batches and inhale deeply of the magical aroma to determine chemical reactions, pryolitic impact and flavor development. We twitch and jump racing to coax perfection from the beans we roast in small batches by hand.
We are committed to providing our customers with the best coffee, roasted to order, and shipped within 24 hours of roasting to ensure freshness and quality. We roast every week, Sunday through Thursday. Orders placed Thursday through Sunday may not ship until the following Monday, depending on our stock on hand at the end of the production week. Certain coffees (Rare Estate, Auction) are only roasted once per week and orders containing those coffees may have an additional delay to ensure our customers receive the freshest coffee possible. Contact us at websales@barefootcoffeeroasters.com or call 408-293-7200 if you have any questions.

Panama Kotowa Organico Best of Panama-12oz For the 2007 auction Barefoot was once again proud to be the top bidder on the famous Kotowa Organic Cup Of Excellence coffee. This coffee keep winning in the Cup Of Excellence and Barefoot keep loving the flavor so much that we keep buying it. This year the Koyners were the #4 coffee by score but they received the 3rd highest price in the auction. The flavors are everything we love about the non auction lot of the same microlot but magnified 4x. It is refreshingly zingy citrus acidity with a gorgeous lush body that covers the tongue. Smooth fragrance of summer fruit flowers and ripe red plums.
Ricardo Koyner, his wife Benita and his two children, Juan Diego 6 yrs and Victoria 4yrs live in the farm that carries the Kotowa name. Grown in the breathtakingly high mountains of Boquette this strictly hard bean is a shining example of world class coffee and environmental and human stewardship. Café Kotowa produces and processes their coffee taking in consideration the environment and the social aspects of the people that work for them. Kotowa protects the virgin forests in surrounding areas of their plantation and use no insecticides or herbicides. They cut the weeds manually to prevent the use of herbicidal chemicals. All the by-products from the milling activity - pulp, waste water- is used to produce organic fertilizer which is used in the Duncan organic farm. For the people that work for Kotowa, they provide free medical attention and for the kids, they have a nursery with meals and a school program.
