The label is whimsical and has won awards for graphic design, but more importantly , the cheese is delightful, fanciful,and fun! Its distinctive label depicts a cartoon Holstein cow posed relaxing in a crescent moon, enjoying a glass ofwine. Our young cheddar, soaked in award winning California North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, makes this cheesepurple on the outside, creamy on the inside, and most appealing. It won a gold medal in 2003 at the Los AngelesCounty Fair and a silver medal at the American Cheese Society in 2004. It tastes as good as it looks. In addition to theobvious use for hors'dervs, Purple Moon can also be easily melted, and used in cooking. Melted on crackers orbaguettes, it becomes a unique appetizer, and can be added to omelets or quesadillas, or in grilled sandwiches.
