The Therizinosaurus lived some 71 to 65 million years ago, during the Upper Cretaceous epoch, and was one of the last and main representatives of the – to this day unique – group of Therizinosauridae. Only a very few fossilized bones are known of this type, including the huge claws from their hands, from which they take their name. Therizinosaurus is thought to have been 9 meters long.
