The Feast of the Resurrection is really two feasts: (1) Christ's Decent Into Hell to release the bonds of Hates and (2) His physical resurrection from the dead.
CENTRAL PANEL: The glorified risen Christ holding a banner with the life giving Cross in his left hand. "IC XC" the first letters of His name in Greek are on either side of him. Christ is standing on an X shaped Cross over hell. His hand is extended to our forefather Adam and Eve on the other side. The text above Christ in Russian is "Christ's Resurrection." This icon triptych combines the main elements of both feasts - showing Christ raising our forefathers (Adam and Eve) and His physical Resurrection.
LEFT PANEL: The Prophet John the Baptist, a female representing the righteous females of the Old Testament and a King representing Solomon and David
RIGHT PANEL: Moses with the Tablets of the Law, our Father in Faith Abraham and Noah with the Ark in his hands.
