AUTHORS/ Lincoln, W. Bruce
W. Bruce Lincoln (1938-2000) was born in Suffield, Conn. He earned a bachelor's in 1960, at the College of William and Mary, and a doctorate in 1966 in Russian history from the University of Chicago. He taught at Northern Illinois University for 31 years.He authored a number of books about Russia and its past, most notably The Romanovs: Autocrats of All the Russias; Red Victory: A History of the Russian Civil War; Between Heaven and Hell: The Story of a Thousand Years of Artistic Life in Russia; and Sunlight at Midnight: St. Petersburg and the Rise of Modern Russia.
