About Soya Love Candles
Hello All, Juliet first made soy candles as Christmas gifts for family and friends in St. Louis, MO. When she arrived home for the holidays, her grandmother was in critical condition following surgery at a cancer treatment hospital in Chicago. Her grandmother never made it home. In December 2001, Frances lost her five-year battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 66. Though saddened by this great loss, she was fueled by her grandmother's advice to follow her bliss. Juliet set out to create a line of candles that would be as fresh, feminine and timeless as the woman whose life inspired their creation.
Her grandmother was especially fond of ladybugs and used an email address with ladybug in it. At the family gathering following Frances' funeral, a ladybug appeared in the bitter cold winter. Coincidentally ladybugs eat aphids that destroy soybean crops. The ladybug is an integral part of Soya Love Candles. It is a symbol of trust, delight, and good fortune. The ladybug represents a personal journey and a story.
Ovarian cancer is considered to be the deadliest of gynecologic cancers and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death by American women. Throughout the year, Soya Love Candles donates five percent of pre-tax profits to the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer research; a unique nonprofit foundation supporting the early detection and prevention of women's cancers.
