Most of Walker Media's products are custom created upon ordering. Depending on the product, you can expect delivery of your products within one to three weeks. Walker Media ships directly to you or your fulfillment company. At this point, we do not ship to individual donors.
Here is a list of frequently asked questions:
Do I have to commit to a certain number of iPods before the drive? No. Order what you need after the drive.
Can I choose the pledge level for Walker Media's products. Absolutely. Walker Media suggests certain levels based on historical performance of those products on stations.
How are the music rights handled? Walker Media curates all content and handles all music rights issues with the various record companies. In some instances, the music is licensed digitally. In others, you will receive a copy of the CDs to go with the iPod that you will then send to your donor. Public radio content is derived from commercially available CDs (you will receive a copy of that CD with each iPod), or it is podcast material availabe for free.
Can we send a purchase order or do the iPods need to be pre-paid? Walker Media accepts purchase orders. We also accept Visa and Mastercard. If Walker Media needs to be set up as a vendor in your purchasing system, please start the process as soon as possible.
Does the price include shipping? Yes. All prices include shipping. Walker Media uses Fed Ex ground or USPS.
Will the iPod be wiped clean if the donor plugs it in to his/her iTunes? No. The iPod is configured in "manual" mode so that your donor can continue to add music, video, audio books, photos, etc. using iTunes. The iPod will not automatically "sync" to the donors iTunes when it is plugged in to the computer. The donor will instead drag and drop the new material into the iPod.
Do I have to know if my donor is a PC or Mac user? It is helpful if you know if your donor uses as PC with Windows or if they use a Mac. Walker Media loads all iPods on PC unless instructed otherwise. If your donor receives an iPod loaded by a PC, they will be able to use the iPod with iTunes, but they won't be able to update the software on the iPod. About 25% of home computers are Macs. How are technical issues with iPods resolved?
What color does the iPod come in? Walker Media orders all iPods in black unless instructed otherwise. According to Apple, black is the most popular color. Fulfillment on your end is easier if you only offer one color, but some stations like to offer several colors. You can see all the colors on www.Apple.com. Here are the colors offered by Apple:
The 120 gig iPod "Classic". Offered in matte silver and black. The 8 gig iPod "nano". Offered in black, silver, purple, blue, green, pink, orange, yellow. Red is sold by Apple to end users only.
