Young Stripling Warrior from the Book of Mormon.
The 2,000 Stripling Warriors "...were exceedingly valiant for courage... Yea, they were men of truth and soberness, for they had been taught [in their youth by their mothers] to keep the commandments of God".
The Book of Mormon tells us how, after battle, General Helaman fearfully counted his beloved warriors. Although all were wounded, to his astonishment there was "not one soul of them who did perish...". God had protected them.
Helaman, the son of Alma the younger, was loved and respected as a great military leader. Following thirteen years of war, Helaman returned to the labor he loved best, teaching the Gospel. He was High Priest over the Church and keeper of the records.
The Book of Mormon is the sacred history of Lehi (an ancestor of Helaman and the warriors), his family, their descendants and God's dealings with them. For more information on the Book of Mormon please visit www.mormon.org.
We can learn how to be faithful and true to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by following the example of Helaman and these warriors just as we learn from remarkable people from the Bible.
