Comprised of fifteen short stories, THE MERRY WIDOW FOX-TROT makes us aware that there is indeed life after sixty! All of the major characters (save one) are between sixty and ninety-five and are struggling to find out "what to make of a diminished thing," to borrow an excellent phrase from Robert Frost. The stories take place between the 1930s and the present in fictitious Maine towns and are full of characters you won't soon forget: some delightful, some funny, some sad. Some of the stories demonstrate what a fine line there exists between pathos and humor. The author knows his characters and settings well, as he grew up in rural Maine.
