Handpainted Polwarth combed top. Polwarth fiber is sort of like a cross between Falkland and Merino. You get the poofy, squishy, soft characteristics of merino, but it has a crispness similar to Falkland. It has an average staple length, and is quite comfortable next to the skin, It will felt. Supersize means you get 1 1/2 four oz braids
When I did my studio fund fundraiser back in Dec 2012-Jan 2013, one of the donation levels included the option to name a colorway. This colorway was named by lovely studio fund donor thing4string whom many of us know for her superb, near perfect spinning. When I asked her if she had any suggestions regarding the colorway, she brought a very old colorway of mine, Common Cause, to my attention. Now, my dyeing practices have changed quite a bit since the good old days, but I got to work, and a few incarnations later, we have 'Raglan Road'. Micki chose that name in honor of her dad's favorite poem, "Raglan Road"- I think it is just the perfect name for this colorway :)
Stock colorways are dyed to order, and ship within 4-7 days of purchase. Please allow for variation between dyelots, and even braids in the same dyelot, due to the hand application of dyes.
