Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I chose the pay by check or money order option. Where do I send payment?
A: Make the check or money order out to FatCatKnits, and mail to FatCatKnits, PO Box 144, Ilion, NY 13357. We are able to process checks or money orders drawn on US banks, only.

Q: How soon will I receive my order?

A: All in stock items ship within 24-48 hrs of purchase. Stock Colorways, Past Club Colorways, and Semi Solid Colors are dyed to order, and usually ship within 4-7 business days of purchase. If you need an item quickly, please email Ginny at FatCatKnits@gmail.com.

Q: How can I view the status of my order?
A: Go to the Customer Service, Account Information page. This page lists all your orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view.

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. However, final shipping costs will be displayed on the Invoice you see before confirming your order.

Q: I live in (insert your country here), and I want to avoid VAT fees. Will you mark down the value on the customs lable?
No. The law requires that the customs label is notated with the actual value of your order. Ginny is happy to break up orders to help minimize VAT charges- email her at FatCatKnits@gmail.com to discuss the best way to handle this.

Q: Can I request a custom dye job?
A: Custom dye orders are welcome, and encouraged! Please allow 2-3 weeks for fulfillment of your custom request.  Minimum purchase for custom dye orders is 4 oz per colorway, but you can request in increments of 2 oz, starting with a minimum of 4 oz. I often dye in batches of 4-5 rovings per colorway, so extras may be placed for sale in the shop. To request a custom colorway, please email Ginny at FatCatKnits@gmail.com.

Q: I want a colorway on a base not listed, how do I request this?
A: Email Ginny at FatCatKnits@gmail.com for fiber availability and pricing.

Q: I saw a colorway on the internet that is not on the website, can I get it?
A: Maybe. Some colorways are one of a kind, and not repeatable. But, many colorways ARE repeatable. Best to email Ginny at FatCatKnits@gmail.com for more information.

Q: How do I sign up for the club?
A: Ginny runs two clubs per year, and enrollment is first come, first serve during a short window prior to each club. You can follow along in the FatCatKnits group on Ravelry, check the FatCatKnits page on Facebook, sign up for the newsletter or email Ginny at FatCatKnits@gmail.com for more information.

Q: How do I get the newsletter?
A: On the bottom left menu of the home page you can see a link to sign up for the newsletter. Registering on the website is not the same thing.

Q: Can I come to the studio?
A: YES! But, hours are by appointment only. Please email Ginny to set up a visit, and allow at least a week's advance planning- sometimes the studio needs to be made presentable :)

Q: I made an order on the website, but had difficulty with Paypal and was not able to finish payment. What now?
A: Ginny may catch this before you have a chance to send an email, but if you do not hear from her please email FatCatKnits@gmail.com. Ginny will discuss with you the various ways of resolving this issue, and get it solved :)

Q: The discount code is not working. What now?
A: Please email Ginny at FatCatKnits@gmail.com and she will resolve your discount code difficulties.
