The emerald green leaves are picked between March and May each year, then lightly steamed. Sencha has long been used by Zen monks for stimulating and soothing qualities which promote mental clarity and calmness. With a high concentration of antioxidants green tea is said to lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugar and aid digestion by metabolizing fats. Strawberry Smile should be prepared using water no hotter than 194 degrees and steeped for 2-3 minutes only. Use a teaspoon per 6oz serving.

20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf tea.
