Organic Honeybush

Organic Honeybush

Grown wild in the Langkloof Mountains of the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Honeybush will delight your senses with its natural sweetness and honey like taste.

First catalogued by Botanists from the Dutch East India trading company in 1652 when they discovered African tribes in the region drinking the tea, Honeybush is no longer a secret and international consumption is growing at a rapid rate.

We are the biggest fans of this amazing tea and would really like to keep it to ourselves but decided Honeybush was just too good not to share. The only thing it has in common with black tea is the way it is processed: - harvested, cut, oxidized and dried, turning from green to dark brown while developing sweet aromatic qualities.

Honeybush is high in antioxidants and naturally caffeine free making it very restful and ideal for nighttime consumption. It also contains Pinitol which is a modified sugar said to help lower blood sugar levels.

A spot of honey will enhance the natural character but is not necessary. This tea is definitely best served hot.

20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf tea.
