Selby Select Rooibos

Selby Select Rooibos

Rooibos is a direct translation from Afrikaan meaning RED BUSH and is a natural herb which grows around 1500 to 2000 feet above sea level in the Cedarberg Mountains of the Western Cape of South Africa.

Rooibos seeds are planted during February and March then tended for 18 months. The entire bush is harvested, cut and milled to a uniform length before bruising between rollers which triggers the oxidation process. This turns the tea from green to its characteristic reddish brown color and develops a natural sweet aroma.

Our Rooibos has a soothing effect on headaches, disturbed sleeping patterns and digestive or colic problems. Many of our daily recommended nutrients can be derived from hot or iced cups of Rooibos, such as Iron, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, Fluoride, Manganese and Sodium which means healthy skin, teeth, bones, blood and metabolic functions.

Does this all sound too good to be true? We don¿t think so, and we drink a ton of Rooibos at Local Coffee and Tea, and we are all very healthy specimens!

This is our custom blended Rooibos with orange peel and dried yogurt pieces. Created to celebrate the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, this is our perennial best seller. Each sip releases the aroma of sweet ripe oranges, followed by creamy notes on your tongue. You will think you are drinking Florida sunshine in a magnificently serene garden. Savor and enjoy! Naturally caffeine-free
