Apologetics: Toward a Fully Biblical Christian Perspective-Bednar

For much too long authors from truly conservative Christian backgrounds have not taken the lead in publishing truly biblical views of Christian doctrine and practice. Various unsound religionists with their own private agenda have filled the gap with ideas that distort or compromise biblical faith. There's a particularly acute unfulfilled need for seminary, Bible-college and Bible-Institute text-books that meet strict conservative standards for the training of young men for the pastorate and other Christian ministries. Dr. Larry Bednar seeks to address the need in a series of texts on apologetics, hermeneutics and systematic theology. These texts aim to present strictly biblical views on the Christian faith from a traditional separatist/dispensational viewpoint, recognizing the King James Bible as our only guide and local-church autonomy as a basis for our practice of the faith. The author is much concerned about a lackluster spirit and a lack of devotion to the faith seen in many churches today and longs for new zeal in church ministry as we move through the perilous last days of the church era. It's hoped this apologetics text will stir the spirits of many as it seeks to show all that scripture bids us know of the blessed faith. It seeks to help God's future and present ministers appreciate anew just who it is that died for us on the Cross and just what it is He did for us there. The book presents a new look at evidence for divine authorship of scripture with the intent of reminding all how vital our comm-ission to advance the faith really is. It illustrates the fact that true scripture really is inerrant, as we would expect if it is divinely authored. And it looks deeper into the inerrancy issue in technical deal-ings with matters of science, the authorship of the Hebrews epistle and the implications of the irregular texts of the Dead Sea scrolls. Larry Bednar is a retired research engineer who approaches Bible study like an engineer, examining the smallest details, while keeping an eye on the overall picture. He's a graduate of Independent Baptist seminaries, a retired Baptist pastor, a fundamentalist educator, a seminar speaker and a textual consultant for Graceway Bible Society, formerly the Trinitarian Bible Society (Canada). His seminar topics include subjects like recognizing scripture inerrancy, comparing Bible versions to illutrate the complete accuracy of the King James Version, and comparing the true science of biblical creation with the unscientific nonsense of evolution.
