ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, RUFFSDALE, WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, PARISH RECORDS, PART 1: 1902-1939. 1999 transcribed by Ethel Schmitt Maloney, edited and indexed by Paul Miller Ruff. In 1903 this church was formed from the congregations of "Swope" and "Seanor," and in 1905 from Ruffsdale, St. John's and Mt. Pleasant. In 1916 Zion and St. John's were formed into the Ruffsale Parish. Then in 1922 the Zion Church, Ruffsdale, and St. Matthew's Church, Hunker, united to form the Ruffsdale-Hunker Parish. This congregation was merged in 1971 with Trinity Lutheran Church of Mt. Pleasant, to form the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant. The church disbanded 15 years ago.
