TRANSCRIPTION OF THE CLARION COUNTY DEATH REGISTER, 1893-1906. 2003 Compiled by Lisa Kerr Ilowite. This important research guide contains the Clarion County Death Register (1893-1906) as transcribed in its entirety, and have been alphabetized by surname for ease of use for the researcher. Information includes first name and frequently, middle name, sex, age, father's and mother's names, marital status, place of birth, occupation, date and place of death, cause of death, duration of last illness, place and date of interment, and date of record. Not all deaths that occurred in Clarion County from 1893 to 1906 are recorded. These omissions are largely due to the fact that reporting of deaths to the Courthouse, although required, was the responsibility of the grieving family. And, even though the State of Pennsylvania assumed responsibility of recording deaths in 1906, some deaths which occurred in 1907 were reported at the county level and were included in the Death Register.
