CLEARFIELD COUNTY, OR REMINISCENCES OF THE PAST. 1859 by S. B. Row, 2000 Revised Edition by Catherine Gaylor Holloway and Sara J. Stephenson. Between May and December, 1859, S.B. Row published a series of weekly articles in the CRAFTSMAN'S JOURNAL newspaper about the history of Clearfield County's first settlers. For these articles, he and Lewis Krans visited every township and settlement in the county to secure correct data from original ancestors and surviving settlers. This 2000 publication is the first time Row's history is in book form. This work not only contains a vast amount of information about the first six decades in this county, but also sets the scenes, the feelings, the anecdotes and the artistry of the literature of its time period.
