A NARRATIVE OF THE SUFFERINGS OF MASSY HARBISON, FROM INDIAN BARBARITY, GIVING AN ACCOUNT OF HER CAPTIVITY, THE MURDER OF HER TWO CHILDREN, HER ESCAPE, WITH AN INFANT AT HER BREAST; TOGETHER WITH SOME ACCOUNT OF THE INDIANS, ON THE ALLEGHENY RIVER, &cc. DURING THE YEAR 1790, '91, '92, '93, '94. 1825 (2007 Reprint) by Massy Harbison, 2007 transcribed by Doris Herceg and edited by Drenda Gostkowski. This edition of Massey Harbison's narrative is an exact reproduction of the book she wrote in 1825. This transcription includes the spellings, punctuations, hyphens and grammatical constructions evident in the 1825 edition. The text placement is a duplicate of that edition. An addendum has been added to give the reader some depth to Massey's story, and includes photographs and Massey's signature. This is Massey's account of her abduction by Indians, the murder of two of her children, her captivity, and her miraculous escape. On May 22, 1792, Massy, (sometimes spelled Massa, Massy, or Massey in various accounts), was taken from her cabin along the banks of the Allegheny (near New Kensington, PA) by Munsee and Seneca Indians, and taken to what is now Butler, PA. She narrates her two-day captivity and four-day ordeal after her escape back to Pittsburgh. 81 pages, 4 1/4 x 7 Hardbound
