Welcome to Randolph's Wood Creations
From The Wood Designer:
I have worked with wood since I was thirteen years old. Starting with the most basic of projects, I have worked up to a level of fine craftmanship. I enjoy making furniture. My pieces are of heirloom quality, and with proper care will last for generations to come. Usually I create pieces that are of interest to me, but also do custom orders. In addition other wood creations can include turned pieces such as bowls, platters and vases. Most of these items are functional and some are decorative as well. Please enjoy my creations and contact me with any questions or custom orders.

WOOD TURNING
The craft of wood turning is an art form. Designing and creating new pieces will take many hours. Wood is a living thing, and when cut, will twist or crack as it dries. It can take up to several months of proper care for a piece to dry so that the turner can limit the effects of warping and cracking. From the time a piece is rough turned, until the time it can be fine turned, sanded, and finished, depends on how long it takes for the moisture content of the wood to reach a desired level. Many hours of work go into each piece. All of the bowls are finished in walnut oil (unless otherwise noted) and are food safe.
FURNITURE DESIGN
Designing and building high quality furniture from start to finish can take several hundred hours to complete. The results are a beautiful heirloom quality piece which will be displayed with pride in your home.
CARING FOR YOUR WOOD PRODUCTS
Proper care for wood bowls is simple. 1. Never put in a dishwasher. 2. Wash with mild soap and dry by hand. 3. Occaisionally rub some salad, olive, or walnut oil into the bowl on all surfaces. 4. Never soak your bowl in water, this will cause the wood to swell, and most likely crack when it dries. These simple rules will keep your bowl in great condition for many, many years.
Furniture which has been finished with lacquer requires only light dusting, and from time to time a light coat of lemon oil to prevent the finish from drying. Furniture with an oil finish requires periodic cleaning with a like oil used in the finish process, as oils will dry out.
